Before beginning a project, please [request a consultation ](/consultation-request-form)to discuss your experiment.

When Bauer Core performs sample quantification, we guarantee to deliver at least the lowest number in our advertised output range. While we are happy to accept runs with custom primers, we do not offer a yield guarrantee for those runs.

### **Custom Primers**

- **NextSeq 500/MiSeq:** We require 30 uL at 100 uM to either spike into the Illumina primers or to run with custom primers only. Indicate these details in your submission request.
- **NextSeq 1000:** If you want to **spike your primers** into the Illumina primers you will need to **purchase these directly from Illumina** and submit them with your sample for sequencing. Otherwise, we'll use your custom primer only for sequencing. Indicate these details in your submission request.
    - Purchase kit: **20046115 - NextSeq 1000/2000 Read and Index Primers** [(more information at Illumina.com)](https://www.illumina.com/products/by-type/sequencing-kits/cluster-gen-sequencing-reagents/nextseq-1000-2000-reagents.html)
- **NovaSeq X Plus:** [Inquire](mailto:illumina_submission-list@lists.fas.harvard.edu)

Please note that custom primer runs are performed "at risk". While we have a great track record of successful custom primer runs, we cannot guarantee yield.
