The Bauer Core Facility provides state-of-the-art instrumentation and expertise to scientists at Harvard as well as external to the University. Our goal is to advance research efforts in the life sciences that cannot readily be accomplished in the traditional academic laboratory because of a need for expensive instrumentation, scientific or organizational infrastructure, or multidisciplinary expertise.  

The Bauer Core supports a wide variety of technologies, from complex multi-laser flow cytometers to simple spectrophotometers. Our expert staff offers training and support so that researchers may run many of our instruments independently. For some technologies where independent use isn't practical, our staff will perform experiments on a fee-for-service basis.
