Training

The Bauer Core encourages researchers to train in the Core for various instruments such as the TapeStation 4200, Bio-Rad CFX (qPCR), 10x Chromium, etc. See the complete list here. Each instrument requires training, which can be scheduled by contacting Core Staff.

Users can also be trained to run our Flow Cytometry analyzers and select sorters for independent use. For Flow Cytometry instruments, if researchers have not used the core facility in over six months, retraining may be required to regain access. The researcher must provide current billing information and schedule a training session with core staff.

SPINAL: The SPINAL calendar system is used for instrument reservations and for charging usage fees. The core staff also uses SPINAL to post announcements about instrument status. Each instrument has its own rules about how far in advance you can make a reservation, the maximum sign-up time allowed, and how much notice you must give prior to cancelling.

If you have questions about the system, please contact Claire Reardon.
